Bio:
Upon graduating from college, I desired to enter the medical profession. After an internship with University of Rochester, I decided that it was not the career for me. I then entered into a teacher certification plan with the University of Houston and started my teaching career with North Forest ISD at Smiley High School. I completed my master’s degree at the University of Houston, and promptly started my doctorate at Texas Southern University. Through this transition I found myself grounded in the infrastructure of Houston Independent school district as a 8th grade Science Teacher. After five years in the classroom I worked with Project GRAD Houston as an Academic Coach in Title 1 schools to help students gain entry into college. In my free time I teach courses at Houston Community College, and work in the ministry with my husband. I have two wonderful children by the names of Elbert and Eboni Reed.
